Nassau County Police investigators said that at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, North Lawrence resident Norbin Mayorga, entered the neighbor’s home on Lawrence Avenue through an unlocked bedroom window where two children were sleeping.
It is alleged that Mayorga then proceeded to sit on his female victim’s bed, forcibly touching her. He then proceeded to take out a serrated knife and stated that if she screamed he would kill her and her brother, police said.
According to police, when his victim started screaming, Mayorga fled on foot through a rear bedroom window. It was not disclosed what items he stole from the home.
Mayorga, 30, was tracked down by investigating officers and arrested without incident at his North Lawrence home.
Mayorga was charged with burglary, criminal possession of a weapon, and forcible touching.
He was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Mineola on Thursday, June 25.
